In order to run a battery operated tool (or any other device) from the mains, an electronic device (rectifier) has to be connected to the tool. This device transforms 240V AC (from the mains) to 5V-12V-14V-18V-24V-48V DC (direct current same as the battery). This will allow you to operate a previously battery only operated power tool, from the mains (any socket at home). 100% safe and secure.
You will still be able to use the tool with a battery (in most cases) if you have one, as the modification will not interfere with the original battery connections (although in some cases that will not be possible).
The same technology can be applied to gardening tools, i.e. battery operated strimmer or a hedge trimmer.
A number of conversion options are available to choose from. I will explain to you in detail how each conversion scheme works, so that you can make an informed decision. Call me to discuss it.
Costs may vary, depending on which conversion suits you or your tool. For example, I can make your power tool to run off a car's battery or another tool's battery, for as little as £15 , which includes a 5m long cable and connectors.
I can also check / service / clean your tool if you want, at a small extra cost, with your agreement. I am an experienced power tool technician (for both corded and cordless).
You can buy on Ebay high quality cordless tools (new and used), without batteries (body only) at a fraction of the original price. The tool can then be converted and you will have a very expensive tool in working order, which has cost you very little. Call me for advice.
